Tax planning for profitable business owners
Keep more of what you earn.
For profitable businesses watching the tax bill grow. We look at your entities and your income and build a plan to legally lower what you owe. If it doesn't find at least twice its cost in savings, the price comes down.
Three tiers, priced by how complex your business is
Half to begin, half when we deliver the plan. Setting it all up is quoted separately.
Tax savings focus
- 1–3 entities
- Reduce your current liability
Growth or R&D
- 4–6 entities
- Acquisition strategy
- R&D credit work
Exit and wealth
- 7+ entities
- Retirement and exit planning
How the plan comes together
Three parts. Most plans are in your hands in about two weeks.
Collection
About a week. We gather the documents we need and talk with the people who matter to the plan. You get the parts we suggest putting in it.
The plan
About a week. Once you choose what goes in, we build the full plan, with every part laid out as action steps and the resources to follow them.
Implementation
Optional. If you want us to put any part in place, it's priced separately, and timing depends on what it is.
Need it sooner for an exit or an investment? We can speed it up.
What a plan can look like
A recent client owns a group of manufacturing companies under one parent company, plus the building the companies lease from them. They had also just bought another company that still has a minority owner.
- The building. A cost segregation study was ready to use. The plan includes the filing that catches up all the depreciation missed since the building was bought, on a single return.
- The work itself. A look at the day-to-day work at each operating company for research and development credits.
- The structure. A review of how every company is owned and taxed, including where the new company and its minority owner fit.
What we look at
Every plan starts with your numbers and your goals. These are the places savings usually come from.
- Entity mapping: how every company you own fits together, and whether an S-corp election makes sense
- R&D tax credits: product, process, or software work that may qualify
- Retirement optimization: the plan that lets you put away the most for your income
- Cost segregation: faster depreciation on buildings you own
- A reasonable salary if you are already an S-corp
- Paying family members who do real work
- An accountable plan for business costs you pay personally
- Timing of income and big purchases around year-end

Questions people ask before they book
When's the best time to start?
Before year-end whenever possible. The earlier we plan, the more options we have.
How is the 2:1 guarantee measured?
We take your last tax return and figure what you'd owe filing the same way this year, then compare it with what you'd owe under the plan. That difference is your savings.
How long does a plan take?
About two weeks: a week to collect documents and interview the people involved, and a week to build the full plan. Implementation is separate and depends on what you choose. If you need it sooner for an exit or investment, we can move faster.
Is implementation included?
The plan and strategy are. Setting it all up is quoted separately, so you only pay for what you use.
How do you pick my tier?
By entities, owners, your main goal, and whether R&D credits are involved. We confirm it on your call.
The earlier we start, the more we can do.
Book a call before year-end if you can.
